The photo on the right is an example of yarn bombing which is then what a group of us had to create ourselves using our own materials and ideas when we returned to College in a chosen part around the College building.
my group and I decided to choose the staircase to create our yarn installation. The reason for this was because we wanted the material to look as though it was flowing down the stairs almost like a waterfall, going from bulky darker materials at the top to lighter thinner and more delicate materials and colors to the bottom.
As we created our Yarn Installation we had to take photographs of it as it grew. Our group decided to take a photograph every one minute so that as the pictures fitted together to create a picture film it showed a clear vision of how we expanded our installation throughout the day. We put the camera on a tripod so that the pictures were in the exact spot every time a photo was taken. We additionally had a second camera that we used to also take close ups of the installation and moving images of us e.g. walking towards the installation and walking backwards.
We all decided that because our installation was very explosive and 'messy' it would be difficult to then expand on our installation through drawings and designs. Therefore we used wool strings and tied them up the staircases to create more defined shapes within the installation.
This is an image of our final product, our group were very happy with our outcome and all worked together as a team to create what we all had in mind!
